Default Help for this interview

I was married for 3.5 years with an American when I was a Ph.D.
student in the graduate school. About half year after we got married,
we filed green card application and I received a Conditional Green
Card 10 months after we filed. Things did going well, we had some
problems and meanwhile, I lost my job in MI where we lived. I looked
for job for a long time and claimed Social Security for 6 months. It
was very ashame that I was so young and not working. I finally find a
job in PA and forced to relocate. During the year, I commuted back and
forth between MI and PA (by airplan and drive - I have proof of the
airtickets).

A year later, we reached the time that we can file the Condition
Removal Petition in Sept. 2002. My ex-husband filed with me jointly.
In my petition I noticed INS about my relocation and address change.
After then things didn't work out between us and we got divorced. But
just a couple of weeks ago, I received a letter from INS that they
scheduled an interview for my Condition Removal Petition. It's 1.5
after we filed the petition.

Also, I have a son who filed his green card application and petition
with me through my ex-husband. However, since my relocation and
divorce, my sister and her husband started to take care of him so that
he didn't have to transfer school and stayed in MI. My sister and her
husband adopted him last year.

I got scared. My question is what I need to bring to pass the
interview?

Do I need to bring my son to the interview too? He is not living with
me now (I do have adoption document. But I am afraid if I tell this to
INS, they will not attach his petition with mine. He will need refile
by himself or he will be deported? If he needs a separate interview?

I can bring a lot evidence to prove my bodafide marriage. My
ex-husband also write a affidavit stating how thigns didn't work out
but we did truly loved each other. ... But what else I need to do for
this?

Do I need a lawyer for the interview? If my condition removal gets
denied, do I still have chances? Also, do they usually deny you during
the interview or they usually ask for more documentation to have you
come back?

Thanks a lot.

I cut out everything, but the important question.
Yes, in your case, I would advise an attorney to protect the interests
of you and your son.

Biology aside, if this is true, you may no longer have a legal claim on him as your son - well, for immigration purposes anyway. Get a lawyer!
