Help! EAD expired
My EAD expired and I have just recently applied for a new one, I believe
my interview might come up before my new EAD arrives, should I stop
working until I get the new EAD or can I continue to work while I wait
for my new EAD?
Also how much time before the interview do they send out the interview
notice?
Thanks for any help,
Kim

USCIS usually forgives working between EADs. However, I've seen it happen where a USCIS employee found out someone was working between EADs, and called the employer. The alien was let go from his job immediately, although they did hire him back once he got his next EAD. Your employer will also pay a fine if it's discovered that they hired someone who was not allowed to work. So it's up to you, to take that chance or not.
Lately, it seems that people are getting notices a couple of months before the interview date.
Best Wishes,
Rene

The work rules are often misunderstood --
Will working without the EAD cause problems for you at the AOS -- absent a false claim by you, the answer is "no." I don't like the word "forgiven" which some posters use -- it just has no effect.
However, could your EMPLOYER get in trouble? Notionally speaking, yes. However, CIS is not an enforcement agency and they really don't like ICE. So as a practical matter, your employer will not be "forgiven" but they won't be sanctioned either in all likilhood.
