Thumbs down Help-Cairo consulate!

This question is for any members going thru Cairo. I have alway been sending email to the consulate at their address [email protected]. Since yesterday though, I get an undeliverable message almost as soon as I send the email. I anyone else getting this? Have they changed their email address? It's unchanged on the website. What more could possibly go wrong?

Hi Heba,

Out of curiosity I just tried it myself. It bounced back as undeliverable through my AOL also. Maybe their email system is just broken or something.

Hi Heba,

I imagine that their mailbox is full because there was a long holiday in Egypt - Eid al Adha. Businesses were closed from Wed. night until Mon. morning. The embassy is closed for the local holidays too. They have a schedule of holidays on the Cairo Embassy website. I think you just need to wait several days until they have time to address the email situation and I suspect it will be back up and running then. If it persists longer than a week, then there may be a more serious problem. Sorry to hear of your difficult situation as I remember that you gave up the K3 for the CR-1. Hope it gets resolved soon.

I totally forgot about the holiday! What with Christmas, then the New Year, then the eastern orthodox Chritmas, then eid, their mailboxes really must be maxed out. I gues I'll give them a couple of days then try again. If I knew their fax number, I' send them a fax instead.
