Hello all,

Ok, after waiting a while form my fience's I-129F online status show that we are getting an RFE. They have mail it to us on July 26th. Ofcourse, I'm panicing.

First of all how long do you guys think that I will get the letter? I would imagin it should be couple of days but with CSC you never know.

Secondly, I don't have a clue what they can ask for. I submitted pretty much everything one could think of.

If any of you have gone through this, please let me know your experience and tell me how long will it take once I do submit my evidence. I hope that I don't have to go through another 5 months to wait for their response.

we got an rfe and it was for more evidence of a relationship who knows what it can be. it is going to slow you down a bit. my advice to you is dont be in a hurry im past day 100 already

Past 100 days? wow... when did you submit your RFE?

100 days total i submitted the rfe on may 26th and it has been 60 days since then btw texas is faster than california so you can count on the same or slower

As of today we are 114 days total since applying and 65 days since getting a RFE. There has not been any action on our case since June 2. Don't want to discourage you but just let you know you arent alone in waiting. Where is your fiance from mine is from India.

Mine is from Pakistan. I'm all worried now.

Evidence of relationship? Or evidence of having met in person within the last 2 years?

Hi Sean,

A friend of mine with a Pakistani fiance got an RFE on her I-129F going through Nebraska. It was just for clarification on her name (the USC), since it changed a couple of times in her life. It took about 60 days after that for her approval.

At this point, you getting an RFE won't have anything to do with your fiancee being from Pakistan. It's probably something that can be corrected quickly on your part and not cause too much of a delay.

Sean , My RFE was for name changes and once I explained about my name change then the RFE cleared up in 60 days going thru Nebraska.
It seemed so terribly long in waiting but we survived and my advise is to relax. things will be ok just do your waiting and you'll be on the road again. we filed in nov and now we have a interview date of aug 26th in Islamabad ,so we are very happy about this.
good luck and don't worry your RFE will take about a couple of months is my thinking and once this is fixed things from there go in pretty good timing

Hey Sean we got an RFE out of the CSC for more evidence (even though we thought we sent enough) and it took us about a month or two from getting the rfe to approval. They asked specifically for things they already had in thier possession leading me to think they lost the evidence or were dummys.
not long compared to the rest of the experience though. Good luck.

The only thing I'm scared of that I sent them pictures that didn't have dates. Now to get photos with dates, I'm going to have to visit again just to take pictures with dates.

I hope its somehting simple. Any idea how long before I'll get the letter. Online status show they sent it on 26th July.

Did you write the dates, place, and people's names on the back of each picture? That's what we did, and we were fine. I don't think they expect you to make another trip just to get dates on pictures. If that IS what the RFE is for, you could probably write up an explanation of the who, what, where and when of each picture. Please keep us posted....

You should get the letter very soon in a week or so perhaps even today.

other evidence you could use are scans/photocopys of your passport with stamps and your boarding passes. affidavits from people who have seen you together are helpful as well. I remember getting one signed by friends we traveled with and even audience members who saw us together at my gigs. even my band signed one. wait till the rfe comes then worry about what they want. could be simple could be a missed form or an n/a where they wanted a NONE. if it is an rfe they more than likely want something that should be fairly simple to provide. We even had a time and date stamped professionally done picture in our original submission and they again asked for one.

I just called the service center and automated system could not find my case. I hope its normal. Or maybe a good sign, I don't know.
