I just got an email from USCIS, that my AOS interview scheduled for October is cancelled...
Did it happen to someone else in this forum before? I mean, WHY they would cancel my interview?
What could be the reason or reasons?
PLease, advise, I am sooooo nervious and dont know what to do?
even if they cancelled my interview, when they might re-schedule it?
please, please, please advise or tell me what to do now?
should i call them?

Thank you for sharing the text of the email with the group, that might help. I see that your location is Illinois, so did you apply for AOS through Chicago, and if so, when?

I'm not completely sure about this, but I think that there may be some district offices granting AOS without an interview. As I said, I don't know if this is true or not, and perhaps someone has some information on that. Maybe this is why they cancelled your date? What did your original interview letter say, and when did you receive it?

I've received the letter on the end of August, applied for AOS last Oct.
and actually we are in WI, not IL.
and there is nothing about WI on kamya.com...
about granting AOS with no interview..... we aren't that "lucky".
original letter says that we had interview on such date and bring all evidence...
thats all...
anyone had experience that? or anyone from WI.

alpona reported having her interview cancelled. It was rescheduled about a month later. I never heard why it was cancelled.

i'm sure they'll reschedule soon. it seems to be that if they have to cancel, they try to get you seen as soon as they can - that's what i've gathered anyway.

if you cancel, then it's a different matter heheh.

Shake hands with Farhan. His was postponed as well.

There isn't much you can do at this point. CIS will contact you with a new appointment date or you can get an infopass appointment and go in person and check on the status of the case.

Hey Max,

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm in WI as well. My husband and I only recently applied for his AOS. Unfortunately these unexpected roadblocks are all part of the USCIS maze that we all have to go through at one point or another.

Just for clarification...did you really apply for AOS last October and only in August received an interview date? I'm asking because my husband and I would like to plan a trip for February back to visit his family and we are afraid of leaving and getting our interview date before we return. We received his I-797C (I think that's right) this weekend and he scheduled a biometrics exam.

I'd love to hear anyone else's experiences through this.
