Do a search of this forum for names of US immigration lawyers in the UK posted by folinskyinla or by S Folinsky.

Also try the lawyer search function at aila.org

Is your US citizen fiancé(e) also living in Scotland? Your USC fiancé(e) starts the process by filing form I-129F (and some support documents) in the US. Once the I-129F is approved, you are invited to apply for the visa. Since the information you provide is all stuff you'll know, you shouldn't have any problems with it.

I'll also add that unless you have previous issues such as an overstay in the US or some sort of criminal background... it's quite doable by yourself. A lawyer might help you sleep better at night - especially if you aren't too good at following direction - but what he puts down on the forms is only going to be as good as the information you provide. It's still your responsibility to ensure that he sends the correct information... and you wouldn't believe the number of lawyers who screw that up!

We actually have a very good wiki with all the information you need, and there are many of us - me included - who successfully navigated the K-1 process without a lawyer.
