Default going to Peru for marriage - bringing her back?

Hello! I want to go to Peru and marry my fiancee there, then bring her back
to the states. What do I need to do be able to bring her back? I don't
think it is a K1 visa as we'll already be married at that point... Thanks
in advance for your help!

I feel silly I asked before seeing how easy the information on this was to
find! http://www.k1faq.com/ sure seems like a great resource.

The K3 visa is for "reunification of families of US Citizens" and I believe
what I need. However, can I file for it before we are actually married? I
can only take about 2 weeks off from work to go down there. Browsing the
checklist on k1faq.com it appears that the marriage certificate doesn't have
to be shown until AOS?

Thanks!

Well, you probably won't be able to bring her back with you within the 2 weeks you mention, but you might want to check out these links regarding "Direct Consular Filing" (not an official INS term, by the way)
http://www.tonydepalma.com/sys-tmpl/...nperuanupdate/
and the helpful but not totally current
http://k1.exit.com/dcf.html

You cannot file the K3 paperwork before you are married. If you do go for and receive a k3 visa, the alien still needs to Adjust Status (AOS) once in the States. DCF is preferable as the alien enters the States as a Perm. Resident (Green Card) and is much further along the path (as opposed to K1/K3).

Unless you do the direct consulate filing thing you are going to have to file for an I-130 & upon receipt of 1st NOA you then send this receipt with application for a I-129F to begin the K3 process. Please dont plan on bringing your wife home with you...it still takes months after your married. Believe me I know that oh so well. Married March 2002 & Im still waiting for my visa while husband is in the US waiting for me.
