Default G-325A Questions!

Thank you to everyone that responded to my T-485 AOS questions. We
really appreciate your suggestions and help.

Next on my list of forms is these G-325A's.

According to the instructions, I (Canadian) and my wife (USC) each fill
out a G-325A which appears to be 4 copies of the same form (1) Ident,
(2) Rec. Br., (3) C, (4) Consulate. So, we each fill out 4 copies of
this form. So far, so good!

The form has many fields that are labelled "Applicant('s)". My first
thoughts on this were that my USC wife is an applicant for this form,
as well as I am.

But then at the bottom it asks in a bold box, Applicant: Be sure to put
your name and Alien Registration Number in the box outlined by heavy
border below.

So this confused me!

The questions!

1-) Who is the applicant on each set of forms?

2-) Does my wife fill in her information in the fields asking for
"Applicant's residence last five years", "Applicant's Employment last 5
years" etc.? I seem to recall instructions in the I-130 saying that
"except for your name and signature my wife does not have to repeat the
information on the form G-325A that is already on the I-130" or
something to that effect.

2-) b)!! If she does not fill in all the blanks on her G-325A, is that
okay?

3-) In the bold heavy border box at the bottom, do we put my name there
on both her set and my set?

4-) For Alien registration #, what do I enter here?

Thanks again for your suggestions, in advance!

For the G-325A's, you each fill out your own. You fill out one with your own information, she fills out hers with her information.

2-) Does my wife fill in her information in the fields asking for
"Applicant's residence last five years", "Applicant's Employment last 5
years" etc.? I seem to recall instructions in the I-130 saying that
"except for your name and signature my wife does not have to repeat the

something to that effect.
I personally would fill it all in again.

2-) b)!! If she does not fill in all the blanks on her G-325A, is that
okay?
It's better to have all blanks filled in, in my opinion. Put "N/A" or "none" where necessary. For the A number question, just draw a line through that box.

3-) In the bold heavy border box at the bottom, do we put my name there
on both her set and my set?
Put your name on your set, and her name on her set, in the heavy border box at the bottom.

4-) For Alien registration #, what do I enter here?
If you have an A-number, put it there. If you don't yet have an A-number (alien registration number), just draw a line through that space. If your spouse is a USC by birth, she won't nave an A-number. I don't recall what visa you came in on, but your A-number might be on that.

Don't forget each G-325A is 4 pages. If you're using a fillable form online, it probably will print all 4 identical pages. Make sure each page has an original signature. Same goes for her G-325A. If you're using one of the USCIS provided forms (which I think has carbons, I don't recall now), you should be fine with that.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Wow Rene!

Thanks!

I came in on a TN Visa, I have an I-94 Multiple Entry.

So... it is better to provide more information than not enough, gotcha!

So is your spouse also filling out an I-130 to go along in your AOS package? If so, she needs to do another G-325A associated with that application. The instructions are very clear about what's needed as backup for each application. Make sure to include everything for the I-130 AND the I-485, even if it seems like a duplicate.

Yes, my wife has filled out an I-130, an I-864, and a G-325A. We have
also filled out an I-485 and an I-765 as well as a G-325A for me.

There are a ton of duplicate attachments, I noticed!

And make backup extra copies and save them here in case they ask for
something that we already sent and lost?

I think there's actually one more G-325A for you, associated with the I-130, but double check to make sure.

And YES!! Keep a copy of EVERYTHING you send to USCIS!
