Form DS156, current instructions???
I was gonna let this go, but... I've just read a post where the subject has been
mentioned again.
In David Thomas's posts about his K1 timeline and what to expect, he mentioned
sending monies to London with his returned package 3 DS forms, but hadn't got
his interview letter through yet. I wondered what monies he meant, as when I
returned package 3 in March, there were no monies to be sent, so I asked in my
reply to him. He says he filled in the DS form and had taken it to the bank and
paid the money due, before then returning it to London with his other package
three forms.
But I thought the DS form had to be sent back filled in, without having paid
anything because with the interview letter comes another DS form on stiffer
quality paper. The instructions were for you to take that one to the bank, pay
and get it ink stamped then take it along to the interview with you with photo
stapled to the relevant box on the form. On reading David's reply, it sounded
like London had altered their system slightly, asking for advance payment of the
visa document. But I've just read a post from someone else saying that when
they got to the interview, a second DS form was needed.
Can someone clear this up? Are London now asking for this particular DS form to
be paid in advance and sent along with the returned pakage three. On my package
three instructions it said clearly *not* to pay, but to fill in the form and
send it with the other DS forms. This was borne out with a second DS form with
instuctions to then pay in advance of the interview. Are the current package
three instructions for London now telling applicants to pay at the bank, get it
stamped and returned to them in advance of interview letters being sent out?
I know I've gone through my K1 interview, and am now happily married and in
America. But I'm trying to keep up to date with what's happening in London so
that I can help others from the UK. I'm confused at the moment with this DS
form. Perhaps those currently recieving package three, and those having
interviews in the UK, can post what their intstructions are regarding this form.
