So you believe Rene that within the next 47 days (taking my upto 90 days) I should receive my EAD in the mail?

I really really hope so

The EAD should arrive within 90 days of the AOS filing date.

Are you applying for jobs and going for interviews? You don't need an EAD for that.

No I've not been doing that, i thought that wasn't allowed and that if it was found out i was trying to seek employment before receiving the EAD i could get in alot of trouble?

If i was to say get an interview somewhere, and it turned out successful, then informed them that i can't infact start until i receive my 'EAD card', is that not in turn wasting there time?

No, you're fine to be looking for work and going on interviews. You can even accept an offer. You just can't start doing the work or be getting paid until you have the EAD.

Depends. If the employer is willing to wait, it won't be time wasted. Where I work, we are currently waiting for someone to get their EAD in the mail. He's done all the pre-hire paperwork He has the online status approval for his EAD, but just waiting for the actual card to come in the mail so he can start working.

Nonsense! Get out there!

Believe me, it's never a waste of time if you're the right person for the job.

Ok, so this has me slightly confused..

In another old thread i stated that i had some problems down at SS about a month ago. Basically in short the person said my name was incorrect in the save system and couldn't issue me a card, sent me for an 'infopass' appointment, they told me my name WAS correct, went back to SS, spoke to a different person, they entered in all my information then made it sound like as soon as i received my EAD card i was to come back and they would issue me a SS card. But i think i misunderstood her and she said, we'll send you out a SS card now and once you get your EAD card come back and we'll change the status on your SS card? Does that make sence?..

Anyways about 2 weeks ago i received my SS card, to my surprise as i wasn't expecting it. On my card it says 'Valid for work only with DHS authorization'.

I've read before that some people have stated on their card 'NOT valid for work', is this because they are on a different visa and not a K1?

So when i receive my EAD card, do i still need to go back to SS and show them it so they can 'change my status' or whatever the women said?

No, you will not need to return once you have you EAD. Your EAD IS your "work authorisation" that goes along with your SS card.

However, when you get your actual green card, you WILL have to go back to SS and they will issue a new SS card that doesn't have any endorsements on it.

Source of info: I just did that very thing after having a "valid with dhs...." for employment

This is correct. The EAD card is the DHS authorization.

I've read before that some people have stated on their card 'NOT valid for work', is this because they are on a different visa and not a K1?
Yes.

No, you don't need to do anything else right now. You're good to go.

When you get your green card in hand, THEN go to SS and have them update your status in the system and order a new card for you, without that legend on it (since as a US PR you would no longer need DHS authorization to work).
