I see.

Ok, I'll take her birth certificate along with me.

When it says they want a photocopy of everything does it mean everything like passport,photos, tax transcripts?

OK I have another Tax question, sorry!

My wife has been filling out the I864 and has got to the question where it asks her total income.

On the tax transcript for that year it has TOT INC(which I take it means Total Income) and next to it a number that is actually no where near her total income for the year.

Does this sound right?

She should answer each question on the I-864 as she goes. If it asks for past year's income, she gets that figure from her tax return (I think I-864 even tells you which line on the tax return to look at). If the I-864 is asking for current income, she should put her current gross income there (not a figure from a tax return).

What is "it"? Who is "they"?

In general, it's always a good idea to have a photocopy of everything you are submitting regarding immigration.

Right.

I don't understand this then. On her 1040 it has a figure for her wages then(line7) then on line 22 it says add the amounts in the far right column the lines 7 through 21. This is your total income Then that figure is about $50k less than her 'salary' on line 7.

So why is her income much less than her salary and which one should we put?

Even on the IRS transcript it has her Total Income for $50k less than her salary.

Totally lost.
