THis is what the Atlanta office told me!!

They said mark the envelop that it is an I-485 for a K-1 AND it goes in a special
"faster processing" pile. Can someone verify this from experience.

Yes there have been a number of reports from Atlanta of K1-ers getting their
interviews within two to three months.

I asked a similar question through my Congressman. The reponse from the Atlanata INS
office stated that if your file like I did, taking the I-130 route, were no previuos
background checks have been done then it will take about 3 years. If you are applying
using another method, where background checks had already ben done then you would get
processed faster.

I wish I could qutoe you directly from the letter we received but my better half
discarded the letter.

Can some one expand on this? I am not sure exactly what the specific types of filing
(K1, military etc) are that backgrounds checks are needed prior to filing the 485 and
thus speed up the process.
