Fan-effing-tasic AoS in under 2 months!
Just thought I'd like to express my amazement and joy at my new Filipino wife getting her LPR status approved in under 2 months Here's the timeline for those interested:
Entered in K1 status Jan 6th
Married February 11th
Filed AoS April 13th
Case transferred to CSC May 3rd
Biometrics Appointment May 14th
I-130 approved June 4th
USCIS website showing today AoS approved June 8th, approval letter sent.
When I think back to the bad old days when I did my AoS in 2000, it took a year to get the interview and another 7 months before I got final approval (holdup due to having been in TDY-A2 status previously). The 2yr card took another 2 months to arrive! That's nothing compared to my N-400 which took 28 months thanks to more than 2yrs stuck in the now infamous FBI namecheck backlog.
Now we look forward to the card arrival in probably 2-3 weeks time

Congratulations!! Although I think you mean CPR status, not LPR.
This is good news for poster Dudette, maybe hers will be as quick!

Congrats Brit. I have a quick question. Why did you include the I-130 if your (now) wife entered the US on a K1? An I-130 isn't needed for K1 adjustment of status. Or did you mean to say I-485 instead of I-130?
Sorry if I sound pedantic or something, but people will read these posts, and it could confuse them if they think they need to file an I-130 for AOS from a K1.

Well it seems I made a mistake. I thought I'd checked all what was needed for AoS but it seems the I-130 isn't required. Oh well $355 down the drain but hey, AoS in less than 2 months makes up for it and without interview as well. We got the welcome letter today, just waiting for the card now. Now she can go and get a job to keep me in the lifestyle to which I have become accustomed and right now it's not a lot thanks to the FAA denying my medical GRRRRR.

Hi everyone,
Just received my I-797C for my I-485, I-765 and I-131 and came across your post. You said that your case was transferred to the CSC not long after you filed and i just wondered if you received your I-797C before it was transferred of if it was done right away as I was hoping my application might only take 2 months or so too! So far the USCIS website shows my I-485 at acceptance level and my I-765 as initial review along with the I-131 and the I-797C says for both the I-485 and I-765 that the USCIS will contact me for the biometrics apt. Anyone else at the same stage as me - I just want to hurry up and work now lol!

Do you already have a job lined up? If not, you are allowed to look for a job, attend interviews, and even accept a position... all without an EAD. If offered a position, do not sign any forms until you have the EAD in hand.
In this economic climate, I wouldn't wait for the EAD to start job hunting... as it is, it's going to take a while.

No I don't already have one lined up as my husband told me he thinks its too early to start looking without the EAD as I have no idea when I'll get it but maybe you're right and I should start looking - I have a resume writing class next week as he's in the military so they help me a lot. Do you know if anyone has had experience with getting a job offer but having to wait for the EAD, I'd hate to miss out on a job because they wouldn't wait for me to get it.
