I am still early on in the K1 process where we are filing in the US.
I am trying to be organised as, bless the other half, but organisation is not one of his strong points so anything to be done has to be done early
The affidavit of support forms are hopefully pretty straight forward and his wages are way above the poverty line so not so much issue there.
What I am struggling with is the evidence - he doesnt have a contract as such that states his wages, start date etc etc. Like not an official document on company stationery. He says when he graduated ( police academy) they give you the certificate to say he is on the force and he has wage slips etc but nothing really other than that? Does anyone know if this will be sufficient? Also, he has some savings in the bank so he can get a statement from them but it is the employment evidence I am concerned about?
Thanks for any help
Lucy

Is he an Officer in the US? In addition to the advice you have been given, he can request a letter from his agency stating that he is a full time peace officer employed by them, for how long, etc etc...The human resources section of his employing dept should be able to write it up...

There are actually some very nice parts of Harlem now! That's where Costco and Target are. They put up a nice mall there. I live on the Upper East Side and I go up there all the time on my own. Alot of it is still crap but alot has been gentrified .They also have some brand new highrise buildings and soem beautiful old brownstones. They are trying to gentrify the South Bronx as well. That will take a bit of time but hopefully it will happen! If you told me 10 years ago I would be going up to 117th street and Pleasant Ave on my own (or with anyone else) I would have said you are nuts! Time's are a changing!
By the way my restaurant doesn't have company letterhead. My manager just wrote a letter of employment on plain staionary and put the company info in the top corner of the letter.
