Hello, my fiance currently has a student visa that will run out in 1 year.
WE plan to marry soon. Generally about how long does it take to process and
fill out all the paper work for her to be a permanent resident?

Doesn't take long to fill out the paperwork, however, processing times depend solely on the INS local office you will be using. And now you have to factor into the time equation, the transfer of authority to the new Homeland Security department.
