Here is our K3-EAD timeline. We did not have to go for the interim, thank God.

EAD:
03/02/04 - NOA #1
05/26/04 - Approved
06/02/04 - Received EAD card in mail
02/10/06 - Card Expires
Leslie,

Why does it expire in only 9 months? I thought they were good for 1 year from the Approved date! And, since it looks like it takes 3 months to get the card, you need to re-apply for the next one 3 months before the old one expires....so you really can only relax for about 6 months before having to re-apply, re-apply, and re-wait AGAIN....!

Hmmm, if I remember well, your husband activated his K3 in February, so maybe his EAD is valid for the whole 2 years his K3 is valid for? Pure speculation...That could be nice though, even if this would be the only case where I've seen that done!

Carole (still waiting...)

Good thinking Carole!

His POE date was 02/12/04 which is almost exactly 2 years to the day that his EAD will expire.

Clever girl, I didn't even notice that.

Didn't someone - possibly Andrew De F. - say recently that they were
extending the duration of the temporary EADs to reflect the length of time
taken to process the permanent stuff?

Or maybe I'm going post blind and just making stuff up now ;-)

When you say temporary do you mean interim? Because this was not an interim (the one you apply for at 90+ days). This was the "real" one that we applied for initially.

I'm completely confused.......

Hi Lesie

Mine last for two years also, so for K3's maybe it's normal. Great news for your hubby.
