EAD timelines....
i havent seen many EAD approvals lately....according to the USCIS site the NBC center is stuck on Nov 30 applications....
okay..i admit it..i was playing with NOA numbers and look what i've found..it looks like a petition received on Jan 27 Receipt Number: msc0411610411 Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION Current Status: This case has been approved. On April 12, 2004, an approval notice was mailed.If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. how long I'll be waiting. I stumbled across this one this morning: Receipt Number: msc041261xxxx Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION Current Status: Your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was received on February 5, 2004. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 30 and 90 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. Mine has a receipt date of March 2. USCIS fiscal year begins October 1'st. Count the days forward. So MSC 03322XXX would indicate Missouri Service Center; 03 indicates 2003: 322 indicates the fiscal day of the year and the last five numbers indicate the sequence of receipt for that day. Matt or someone posted this explaination about a year ago.
The Oct 1'st date explains why CIS slows down in Sept. Getting prepared for the "new year" and such. just wanted to know if you have to have your biometrics appointment before you get approved for your EAD? i have my appointment on friday (its the only one they had when i called like a month ago) but its already been 100 days since my paperwork was received... just wondering

It doesn't make much difference e-file versus local office filing, many local offices are now sending AOS, EAD and AP straight to the MSC. This is what happened to us, and I find it most disturbing that on from March 22 to April 8 (according to online processing times update) none of the dates had changed.

I think it depends on if you are a K1 or K3 but I could be wrong.
I was a K1 and I got my EAD a week before I got my biometrics done for my AOS. All that they did for the EAD issuance was a single inked fingerprint, a photo taken at the office and a signature put on a laminated card similiar to what they do for your drivers license. This was all done in about 5 minutes at my local office at Des Moines ( Where I sent my AOS, EAD and AP forms to ). Do you mean that I need to make a seperate appointment for my AOS biometrics? I have a biometrics appointment on Friday, I assumed this was for both AOS and EAD. Was I wrong? But the lady on the 1800 told me that I could do it all together on the same day. I filed in Chicago and it got sent to Missouri. Susanna |

I am waiting almost 65 days now . Missed a job offer. My timeline down below in my signature. Been to cleveland office twice and they could not help. Difficult to get to their phone line.
Got thro their phone line. First time operator told me that my application is still in Mail room ( almost after 45 days of my receipt) Second time operator said cannot help me until its 90 days. wont even look it up in her system. The 1-800 number cannot dig, since i filed at local office. Does anyone know if cleveland sends the files to MSC or any other center. Just letting out my frustration. Dhabud [/QUOTE] |

My NOE for EAD is November 18th.....and I still don't have my card. I got the interim EAD on the 91st day and in a month I'll have to go get another interim card. WHERE IS MY EAD? My papers are in Missouri center (NBC)... What should I do to figure out what's going on with my papers? |

In fact the person who issued my interim EAD told me/us that in case the 1 year EAD expires before the AOS interview, we should write to the USCIS center three months before the expiration date, not much earlier, and not later. That sounded to me that it is very likely that things take that long and we just have to apply for another EAD .... and another. Well, in the meantime let's wait for the "real" EAD card, the first one. |

I went to get the temporary EAD on the 91st day at the local Denver office.
But here's the good news. They approved my AP and EAD online on April 16th. :-) And yes, I believe, if the EAD is valid for one year and the AOS process isn't over by that time, we have to apply (and PAY) for another EAD...and WAIT AGAIN till they approve it! Grrrrrr. Hang in there, your EAD can't be way too far. |

Oh, another thing I've noticed while entering receipt dates out of boredom -- some of the more recent ones now state the wait time somewhat more accurately: "It is taking between 90 and 120 days for us to process this kind of case." They might as well add instructions for how to apply for an interim card directly below that. Ought to be able to take one of those receipts directly to an office and say "Look, they're clearly stating that there's no hope. No need to wait, just go ahead and give me an interim."
