EAD Renewal or No? Please help! :)
My husband and I had our AOS interview on Nov. 26. The officer told
us that my husband's fingerprints came back unclassifiable and we had
to have them redone. She told us that after his fingerprints were ran
again (and that would take 7-10 days), we would get a letter stating
when he would get his Green Card. Anywho, we haven't heard a thing
from them; I am guessing because they're not processing any Green
Cards right now.
A lady that my husband works with, who is a permanent resident, told
my husband that he does not need to renew his EAD because the officer
put a stamp in his passport that says "Adjustment Applicant" and wrote
his A number beneath it. I'm thinking that information is incorrect
and that we need to go ahead and renew his EAD, which is due to expire
in June.
Considering that I'm not sure what they usually stamp in your passport
before you get your card, I am not clear on if we need to renew the
EAD or not.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance!!!

The stamp isn't that for a permanent resident (and I-551 stamp). The I-551
stamp has explicit words saying that employment is authorized (and words
like, "Processed for Permanent Residency"). He should renew his EAD unless
you can find out anything on the progress of the approval.

Re: EAD Renewal or No? Please help! :)
Unless the stamp specifically says "I-551" and approved for AOS with a date, then he would need to renew his EAD. However, since the one he currently has does not expire until June and he redid the fingerprinting in November, I would not send the renewal I-765 in quite yet. Try to contact the DAO who interviewed you. If you know their name, write them directly and send via a traceable mail and ask them about the status. Also you might want to contact your rep and ask them to inquire for you as you are long past the due date.
