EAD renewal interview

EAD renewal interview
Hi All,
All of you have always helped me out. I'll write my sequence (in VSC
and Baltimore ASC) and then ask questions:
1. applied for GC through marriage to a US citizen in July 2002. also
got ead in july with I-765,
2. fingerprinting in september 2002.
3. Renewed EAD in July 2003 with I-765.
4. Fingerpritning exprired. got notice to get it done agin on Feb 6,
2004.
5. Got letter for AOS interview. intrerviewed on Feb 20, 2004.
6. Passport never got stamped. don't know why. Havent't heard anything
sinbce then.
7. In July 2004 applied for EAD renewal via I-765 again.
Here's my questions now:
1. First time EAD and even for renewal in 2003, I was interviewed. Why
this time?
2. What should I exprect in the interview at Baltimore. I am very
nervous because they never used to interview for EAD before this.
3. I have already contacted my local congressman a week ago that my GC
has taken way too long since I got interviewed. And he promised that I
should hear from them within 30 days as he spoke to them. In this
event, should I reschedule EAD in the hope I will get my GC before
that and I never will have to go. I know I caN STill go for EAD...but
I am trying to avoid it as I have personal religious acticity to
attend to on the date of EAD interview.
What do you advise? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi, as someone who is about to renew his EAD for the first time, i would suggest that increased security measures may be the reason for an interview.
Also, would you know how long it takes to get a new card/appointment.
My original card was collected by myself on 9th July 2004 and expires 13th November only 4 months!!....however the card was dated 9th April as the commencement date....not much use when looking for a job, when you only get your SSN on 15th August...my attorney says all you can do is cough up another $175.00.
