Is the fee for the I-765 Employment (EAD) the same fee as if you first apply

Yes, it's $120.00 for renewal if your AOS is pending. However, the fee is waived in case of few categories such as Temp. protected status, certain asylum applicants. You might wanna read the 8 page instructins on Form I-765.

Same fee. Are they making any money? The fees certainly seem steep for the
work they should have to do on them. Unfortunately the efficiency is so low
that that money is actually needed!
