Default EAD Ignorance

Once I apply with my fiance for AOS (I'm currently on an F-1) how long until I get employment authorisation?

if you only file for aos (i-485) then you dont get work authorization until you get your (conditional) green card and have a ssc. does not make sense not to file for the ead same time as you file for the aos. aos can take more than 2 years in some offices. is that wait worth not to pay the $ 120 fee for the ead ??

It depends - how long after you apply for AOS will you apply for employment authorization?

If you don't apply, you don't get. Until the AOS is approved, at which point you won't need employment authorization.

You have to file for it with the AOS application (I-765) - or wait to become
a permanent resident - and the timescale depends on the office. You can find
