EAD - Change of status in Philly

Hi, I married my Fiancée (a US citizen) a few months ago and we filed for a change of
status for me (from H1) in Philly. My lawyer (based in NYC) filed the papers at the
end of Aug, but has not even received a receipt for the papers (don't know if it got
lost in the mail due to current situation in NYC).
Doesn't Philly normally process the EAD request within 30 days ? Is there some
number/website I can check the processing status on (and with what, since I
don't have a receipt from the INS) ?
Thanks in Advance

I have to question the advice of your attorney. If you had filed in person instead of
by mail, you would have received the EAD the same day you filed at this office.
I also think your attorney would probably have received a receipt by now. Can the
attorney produce a mailing receipt to PROVE that he actually mailed it when he
said he did?

Philly specifically says that you should file in Person and that mailed in
applications are subject to delay. I hope your lawyer did not advise you to send it
in. Most if not all people that file in person receive the EAD on the same day.

Pedantic Andy says it's adjustment of status; change of status is from one
non-immigrant status to another.
