DS-160 and previous drug use
I've read a lot of threads on here about people who have admitted to historic drug use at their visa medicals and successfully obtained their visas, but I can't seem to find out whether any of these people marked themselves down as a 'drug addict or drug abuser' on their DS-160 or DS-260.
Unfortunately I smoked a few joints at a friends house in the summer of 2017, and while I'm confident I'll pass a urine test I have already submitted my DS-160 and answered no to the drug addict/abuser question; rather naively, I figured a few spliffs didn't stick me in that category.
I have also suffered from depression in the past, and I suspect I will need to provide supplementary information at my medical to pass muster; if this involves a full summary of my mental health treatment, it may well mention my smoking as I mentioned it to my doctor last year. As such I intend to be honest at the medical and submit to a test.
Since my use is more recent than most cases I've seen on here, am I in for a years ban or a lifetime ban since I incorrectly filled in my DS-160? I am willing to fill in another 160 and bring both to my interview, which I am advised is the best course of action if you make a mistake on your first one.
Thanks in advance

Re: DS-160 and previous drug use
You won't get a ban based on this admission, but as stated it could add some time to your process so that they can confirm that you are indeed not a habitual user.
