divorcing a husband in Mexico b4 he comes to the US
Hi,
A good friend of mine has finally made up her mind to divorce her hubby in
Mexico. He's still waiting for his interview in Mexico to travel back to the
US, however, she doesn't want him to come to the US anymore. My question is:
How can she divorce him while he is still in Mexico and how can she stop the
paperwork now so that he will not get the immigration benefit? Anyone has
been in a similar situation?
Thanks
Dan

Wll, she should write and phone the consulate where the interview will
take place, if this is a spousal immigration interview. The divorce
issue would be a topic for another newsgroup. She should be able to get
a divorce in the state of her residence and in Mexico. Both people don't
have to be in the same place to get divorced.
