Are there any couples out there whose spouse is/was Canadian who decided to skip the
I-130 petition and decided to cross the border and file AOS? Any input would be
greatly appreciated (ie. things to look out for, time frames involved, EAD appoval).
Thanks. Looking forward to any replies to help me decide what route I ought
to follow.

Many couples have gone about the process in that fashion. Timelines depend on the INS
office you will be using so that can't be given to you.
Suggest first off that you read Alvena's site listed below.
