Default DCF Sydney

Hello, me and my husband are planning to apply for a spousal visa via DCF in Sydney. I spoke to them over the phone and they do allow US citizens to apply in Sydney as long as they are in Australia. They do not have to have resident status. I was curious however, do you think there is a chance that they may stop allowing this soon? We are not planning on applying until January due to financial obligations we must take care of first.

Thanks in advance

RB, we here (as with you) could only guess. Last time certain Consular posts stopped non-resident DCF, they gave about a month's notice, IIRC. Might behoove you to have your application packet ready, just in case you read/hear of a change (if the USC is not in Australia now to Jan 05).
