I am going the I-129 route in th US (Nebraska SC). I guess this route takes forever.
My fiance was just denied a tourist visa today - she was honest.

I am thinking of doing a DCF in Peru. Does anyone know if the Lima embassy does this?
Or could we do it in a nearby country? (I doubt it)

I won't be able to be in Peru for more than a week. If I get the paperwork ready
before my trip and the wedding arrangements are set, is this feasable? (her brother
works at the Peruvian Embassy in Lima which may help)

I would appreciate any answer, no matter how short. Thank you in advance.

Thx, Erick

hey sorry to hear about the denial of the tourist visa, exact same thing happened to
me and my fiance, we're doing the DCF through south africa in 2 months. i dont think
you should have a problem as long as you make sure you have everything you need, they
dont usually require the husband to stay for the actual interview you could feasably
go there and get married and file for the I-130 at the US consulate in LIMA with your
wife (which DOES do the DCF filing by the way) and then fly back to the US and wait
for her to get the visa and come over on her own. you have to make sure you have
Everything you need though as you wont really have time to find more information
while you are there. and no, you couldnt do it in another country because at least
one of you has to be a resident of the country you are filing a visa from. you CAN
get married in another country (as long as it is a legal marriage in that country)
and then go to peru to do the filing, but it wouldnt really make sense to do that in
your situation because it sounds like you have obligations in the US that are
restricting your time. anyway, dont talk to me about it, heres a web address for the
page of someone who is doing the same thing you are planning on doing right now.

good luck to both of us

Actually, someone else is doing this right now at the Peruvian consulate. If you go
to Doc Steen's "DCF: Which Visa" link, and then click the link for "who does it",
then scan down to Peru, there is a link to his webpage there. I think on his webpage
there is an e-mail address somewhere also. Perhaps he can give you some pointers:
http://www.mindspring.com/~docsteen/...o/visainfo.htm By the way, I don't think
he has completed his yet, but he should be a ways into the process. Alvena
