I was wondering if someone on here could put my mind at rest. Sorry in advance if this has already been answered but I tried doing a search and couldn't find anything.

I have my CR1 interview booked for the 10th June in London. On the email I printed up with the date of interview etc it has a list of requirements needed on the day....Which isn't that many because I sent most of my originals to NVC. All they require is the medical examination results, photo's, passport and current police certificate (Which I've been told isn't needed because they have the original)

What I want to know is, Do I need to take further financial evidence of support in the form of the I-864 and my husbands tax returns to the interview?

He did send NVC in New Hampsire a completed I864ez with his tax returns etc and they haven't requested needing extra proof of support. And on the list of documents they say

F. Financial Evidence - Y meaning the required document has been received.

I'm probably panicking unecessarily, but just want to get everything right and in order.

In case anything has been mislaid on its journey from the US, I have and am taking a complete folder of all items submitted during the whole process (it's a big lever-arch one ), along with more evidence of an ongoing marital union since the I-130 was submitted.

I have also got all the W2s and financial information from my wife and our joint sponsor, which I believe may well be asked for since we submitted copies.

I'm not not getting approved on the day because some paperwork went astray!

If you did not already happen to submit the 2012 tax returns, you must bring them with you (either an IRS transcript, or copies of everything you filed) on the interview date. I'm also sending my husband copies of my pay stubs up to as close to the interview date as possible.

I concur with civilservant. We've all been waiting too long to be turned away at the interview desk because a piece of paper went missing that we could replace from our own copies. Take everything.

All our interview dates are close together......Lol Shame there not on the same day....

He sent the actual return? Not a copy? If so then youll probably be fine. My wife sent copies so im taking all the originals.

There is no real "original" tax return. The original tax return is on file with IRS. Whatever she had was a copy already.

To the OP: Basically, if nothing has changed on the I-864, and he supplied a 2012 tax return, then you don't have to bring a new I-864 or another copy of the tax return to the interview. If you WANT to bring copies, just as a backup, you can. But unless something changed in his income/asset scenario, there's no need to bring updated information to the interview.

Yes he did, although I think for peace of mind I will get him to post what he sent and take it with me, better to be safe than sorry.

We weren't ever asked for further evidence of our relationship/marriage but I might take some photo's, will give them a laugh at the embassy....

To say I'm nervous about the upcoming medical/interview is an understatement....Will be glad when it's all over....

It's really not that bad, apart from my BP I sailed through and was in and out in about an hour.

Take photocopies with you, especially if you did not submit photocopies to the NVC along with the originals. If the consulate doesn't have a photocopy to keep for the file they will keep the original. The consulate will have the medical reports, but I was not aware that it would have the police report. I believe that you have the police report and must provide the consulate with a copy. Hard to say. If there have been any changes to your husband's financial situation since he submitted the I-864 and supporting documents then those changes should be documented. Beyond that, the NVC thinks that your husband has submitted all required documents, but it's the consular officer who will determine if those documents are sufficient for him to determine that you meet the public support requirements of the law. The content of the documents may raise questions in his mind and he may ask for something additional. Regards, JEff

I sent my original police certificate to NVC and it states on the document status description....

O - The original document has been received and accepted.

I was just told by someone else that had gone through this, that a photocopy was sufficient enough to take to the interview because they have the original.

My husbands financial situation hasn't changed since he sent off the
I-864ez. But I think I will get copies from hubby just in case...

NVC collects the original police report, so it should be in the OP's file when they arrive at the visa interview. I agree with bringing a photocopy of it, just in case.
