CP change during I-140

I applied for I-140 on Sept 5 2001 and mentioned on it that I want to do Adjustment
of Status. Now I have changed my mind and want to go for Consular Processing.
Can anyone please advice me, how to change this. Will INS accept a simple letter
from my lawyer. Since it's not even a month of filing my I-140, will INS consider
the change.
