Cost for K-1 application
I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the estimated cost is once the
I-129F form is approved. What cost other then medical, etc does my fiance
have to look forward too when applying for the K-1 visa?? Thanks

I don't know the cost of the i-129f (someone else might know, like the INS
website)
All these prices are in Holland (on 27 november 2002):
The x-ray is 45 euro
The medical exam is 145 euro
A BMR shot is 29 euro
A DTP booster shot is 29 euro
The K1 interview at the consulate is 100 euro
Then you got the prices for paper and inkt that you print or wirte on.
Stamps, envelopes and after that plane tickets.
If you are worried about the costs (or you can't afford it) I recoment you
start seeking a whealhty sponsor who can support you trough all of this.
A good realationship doesn't worry about money to much. Especially if you
think these are peanuts considering when you would hire a lwayer which is
and extra estimated $2500)
Good luck,
Patrick (the Dutchy)

Re: Cost for K-1 application
I am not worried about the cost.. She just mentioned that she might be
paying like 1500 AUS dollars and I didn't thing that was right.. Just
thought I would ask.
As for a sponser, I wouldn't need one. I make enough money to pay for what
needs to be done.
Thanks for the information.

the fiancé visa processing cost at the embassy will be the equivalent of $100
USD. the medical varies. in england it costs £125 for an adult, with extra
costs if you want to get any jabs done while you're there. bits and pieces for
obtaining a police cert and any other documents she doesn't have can be added
to that but usually don't amount to much. the biggest cost for a lot of people
can be getting to the embassy for the interview. it was for me. if she lives a
long way from the embassy she might have high travel costs as well as the
expense of an overnight stay.
none of it sounds huge on its own but believe me it all adds up.
hope that helps.

Re: Cost for K-1 application
i'm in perth, WA, and this is what my costs are so far :
federal police clearance (yes, you need a federal one) $110 (if you don't
supply the fingerprints, its $130)
medical (including blood tests + xrays) : $250
application fee : $125
issuance fee : $200
on top of that : photographs (whatever it costs) : about $10-$20
hepatitis B vaccinations : $22 per shot (you need three over a period of
time)
chicken pox (varicella) : $60
then its the airfare to sydney for the interview : $500-$600
accomodation : $70/night (i intend staying three days to justify the $500
flight)
then the airfare, which, for me (perth - boston) : $1300
hope that helps

Re: Cost for K-1 application
Just got back from Sydney about an hour ago from my K1 interview (went well
except for the pakistani couple who had none of their paperwork in order and
took an hour and a half with the consulate officer.. ugh!..whereas everyone
else went through in about 10 minutes each)..
If looking for a close place to stay near the consulate, I stayed at the
Park Regis hotel.. it's about 2 blocks (10 mins walking time) away from the
consulate, so it makes it easy to get there if you've got an 8:30 interview
like me... although it costs around $110 a night...
