Hello,

When applying for an immigrate visa for a spouse, do you get a choice of interview dates? Or do you simply get told the date and that's that?

No. The date is usually assigned. If the date isn't convenient, you can attempt to change the date once you get notice... but if your change notice doesn't get to the right person and you don't show up when they expect you to be there, your case file will be summarily closed.

Under limited circumstances, it is sometimes possible to change it within the month the interview is scheduled. Depends upon the consulate, their workload and the reason for the requested change.

General rule: don't do it.

How much notice do you usually get before AOS interview? I travel back to UK on 26 Feb and return to US on 10 March, hope i don't get interview in that period and yes i will be going on AP.
