Checking status of K1 online.....

Ok so I just got our packet sent out and received in Cali on the 18th....I know I obviously have a wait for the receipt....but just wondering once I get that what kind of status updates will I see online? Will it just say processing for months on end? .....Ugh all the waiting we have ahead of us.....

You may notice updates on your file (or not--there is no rhyme or reason to it) like Rene explains.
You'll also get notification if an "RFE" is generated, and then you'll have two weeks to stew over what it is until you get the letter!
Try to keep your eyes on the horizon for the moment. Watching the road will make you loopy.

LOL thanks everyone! I need to just relax right now I guess as much as I can....
as nothing else I can do at this point....my fiance' has already sent off for his police record and thinks he has his medical in order until he has to go to the USCIS doc...so nothing else to do but twiddle our thumbs ooooffff!

But don't listen to me. I'm high on the membership list of the anal-retentive club on here!

Actually, you could read threads on here for heads up about 'common sense' things that can come up. Like old police cautions, even underage, or what kinds of pointed questions might be asked at the medical and what to do about them or how to get a social security number as a K-1.. oh heck, there's lots of reading to do!
People's experiences are always interesting.

Hey I just wanted to let you know, me and my fiance applied for a K-1 visa and I submitted my petition on May 2nd 2007 and now, we finally have our K-1 interview in London on Jan. 28, 2008. I just wanted to give you the time frame we had to wait for ours, I hope this will give you some insight, but your could always go much faster, it's really hard to tell. I hope this helped with you a little.

Well, fiance just received a mail saying her petition was approved on the 4th of February. We filed through Vermont SC and there were no RFE requests. So that took less than 4 and a half months - quicker than I dare dreamed.
