Default Can someone describe what their AP (I-512) looks like

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone can describe what their AP document looks like. I
have two original copies on white paper with all my info and my photo
(bottom left corner) which has a (Immigration Authorization Service) stamped
on it.

Can anyone that has an AP please describe theirs to me.

Thanks.

I got mine from the Phoenix office on Tuesday and I have an original
(2 pages) and two copies.

There are two types of AP documents -- some are machine generated with the digital photos.

Most of the ones locally issued are on one sheet of paper with your photo affixed. The phot should be in the left box at the bottom an the other box says "arrival stamp". YOu should also have an extra copy without the photo attached.

The form will say "Auoration For Parole of an Alien Into the United States". It will have language to the effect "Presentation of this attache duplicate of this doucment will authorize a transportation line to accept the name bearer on board for travel to the United States without liability under section 273 .... etc etc."

Nothing fancy about it.

Thanks Guys!!! Kinda almost seems that anyone can make this type of form
since it really does not bear any authentication or hologram.

I was shocked when I got mine. I thought "Is that it ?". (I paid over $100 for four pieces of A4 paper... ?)

It worked just fine though. I felt like someone in those old movies who had been asked to produce their "papers" and pulled out a sheaf of them....lol

True, but they are going to process you through secondary immigration which
means they'll look up your status on the computer. One piece of advice: Make
some copies of the AP documents. Often the airlines want to take copies and
it speeds up the process if you've done that for them already.

Hi:

To be pedantic, it is not on "A4" paper. The US goverment uses 8.5" x 11" paper and NOT metric A4.

There have been times when I have used my forms program to generate a PDF copy which I e-mail to client -- so far, the US government hasn't balked when its printed on A4 paper. [I've used that several times to get signed G-325's and G-28's from abroad and clients could not find American sized paper.]

Excellent point. Another point, if you have a multiple use AP which is not expired, make sure you get it back. The BCBP inspectors are supposed to keep one-use and expired AP's.

[BTW, I am deliberately avoiding the use of the word "entry" -- which used to be a term of art until its replacement by "admission" in the 1996 legislation. Force of habit, I guess. I'm still amazed when I talk to some newer lawyers who show a puzzled look when I say "Fleuti." It would be like if the Supremes did in the "Miranda" warnings -- after time, "Miranda" would be an unused phrase].

I know it's all imperial or "American imperial" here in the US - I just couldn't remember the size of the paper in inches, so was being lazy typing A4 as it's sort of close

4 quarts in a gallon instead of 6 ... and they shrank the tons! I confuse people heartily when I forget and give my weight in stones...lol
