I keep my SSN locked and forgot to unlock it when I was [re]doing e-verify on myself anfter I became a USC to remove the expiry date and it failed… so it seems to do that I think it does. It’s basically just searching certain federal data bases, or maybe it’s a coincidence that it failed… and then passed when I unlocked my SSN. But you are right the SSN is not what the work authorization is based on, but it has to be valid to pass. And I think what you’re getting at is that the E-verify does not share the work authorization information with SS department.
