Hi Folks,
I am working on H1-B, I started a business on ebay, its growing fast.
I would like to grow my business and hire someone in future. My question is
can I register a business in my name,
as a sole proprietorship may be change it to LLC in future.
Your answers will be appreciated.
Thanks

You can start a business, but you can not work for it, in any form, paid
or unpaid, without the appropriate work authorization.

If selling things..then you can sell whatever you want..there is no
implication on being as H1B.

Hmm, that's true for casual selling.
If you make a business out of it, like buy stuff and then resell it,
that has *big* implications...

But is the law clearly estabished for that?
I have friends who are on F-1 who started a website, trying to sell
service (programming of projects). Which law will say they can't? I
want to understand.

Yes. This is well established.

Immigration law says that somebody working needs work authorization.
And CIS considers anything that would usually be done by a a paid worker
to be work. Nobody with work authorization working for a for-profit business
would work without some kind of compensation. That is what counts.
Volunteering for a non-profit, where everybody else volunteers as well
is allowed.
For the actual case law on this, you'd have to go to a lawyer.

Huh? Are you suggesting that this wasn't real?

The officers have every right to perform such searches.
I suggest you change your attitude...

What do you mean by BS? If you mean what many people mean, what
are you actually trying to say here?

What's funny about it? Sounds like a failrly unpleasant experience
to me, though not as bad as what some people have to deal with.
What a strange message.
