Default Buffalo walk-in AOS - how early to arrive?

Hi Everyone,

I've been hunting around the forum for an answer to this with no luck so I thought I'd start a thread.

My soon-to-be British husband and I will be applying for his Adjustment of Status in a few weeks in Buffalo. I have heard stories from other people (who applied at different local offices) about arriving at ridiculous hours of the morning in order to get in (some as early as 4 am). Has anyone filed in person in Buffalo lately, and if so could you fill me in on your experience there?

I've heard stories of the Buffalo office being a fairly good one to deal with - I'd really appreciate some firsthand information.

Thanks very much!

Wow, well that's what I like to hear! Hopefully I'll have the same luck you did!

Thanks for the input.

Also have you checked the AOS filing experience pages listed in the root post at the start of this forum under my name. There are reports from those that have filed at the Buffalo office and might give you answers to more than just this question.

I was in Buffalo for an interim EAD last September and there was no
queue. Went straight to the enquiries window. What part of CNY are you
from?

Don't count on this advice! Although I have never been to Buffalo, my
experience with different CIS offices is that they will only take a SMALL
number of applications for AOS each day. That usually means 10-20 are taken
each day. The rest of the people there are there only for stamps, interviews
or recalls. The reason there was no line at 10 AM is they have already given
out the numbers for the AOS applicants and they will NO LONGER TAKE ANYMORE
for that day! (Been there, done that!)

I would plan to get there early and wait in line. We once went to the
Sacramento office arriving at 6:30. There were already about 35 people in
line and even before they got to us they warned that they already had enough
AOS applications for the day and would take no more! (we were there for
something other than AOS, TG.) We also had experience here in Charlotte,
where we arrived at 10AM and there was no line! The reason was they had long
since stopped taking AOS and EAD apps for the day! Again we were lucky as we
only needed a stamp and they let us in. Be warned, no line at 10AM doesn't
mean you will get in! Good luck.

Thanks - yeah, I still definitely plan to go early, it's just nice to get other people's imput. I had heard that they tend to limit how many AOS's they'll do in a day, so thanks for confirming that for me, too.

Cheers.
