Birth Certificate Info
Hi again folks, another question that has been playing on my mind today...
I do not have my original birth certificate from my childhood, but when I applied for my passport back in 2000 I went to the registrar office in my hometown and got a 'Certified Copy of an Entry, Pursuant to the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953'
I take it this copy is just as good as the original? It has my birth date, name, my parents names, their hometowns at the time etc.

No one has their original birth certificate. They only have a copy of the filed birth certificate. The original stays with the filing office.

Stop thinking and imaging things. It is the leading cause of insanity for those seeking visas to the US.

The certified copy (which is what I have and have used for my entire visa journey) is about A4 size. I assume that's what Tom is talking about as I wasn't aware there wasn't anything other than a long form!

Just Googled it, I'm sure mine is Long Form, it has both parents details plus my own, and my fathers occupation, also the place of birth

Re: Birth Certificate Info
Interestingly I have a "short" version - until reading this I didn't realise there was a difference. It's totally square and about half the size of an A4 page.
It's what I submitted with my application back in December, I haven't yet had an RFE.. should I be expecting one for this?
