Post biometrics for AOS & EAD

Hi everyone,

My husband just got two letters - one for his AOS and the other for the EAD. Both have the same date for his biometrics. What happens after this? I'm assuming that he'll get his work authorization, but I'm not sure what will happen with his AOS.
Any experiences you could share would be great!

Thanks!

Hey there
The AOS fingerprints are different from the EAD as they take a whole set (all your fingers), for the EAD they only take your index finger.
He should get the work authorization shortly after receiving the NOA2 (aka approval notice).
Good Luck!!

Hi Jolie,

After he gets his biometrics done for AOS and EAD, his EAD card will come in the mail. His AOS will still continue to process, and eventually he'll get an interview appointment letter in the mail notifying him of the date and time of the AOS interview, which you both will attend.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Thanks Rene! This gives us some hope that the process is moving along!

You also might get another AOS fingerprint letter in about a year. We
got one when it was time to renew the EAD. We already had an appointment
for the EAD fingerprint. So, I returned the AOS letter and requested
they both be done on the same day. They returned the letter with the
date changed. We got all the fingerprints and pictures on the same day
and the new EAD card arrived within a few days.
The on line date for our AOS has not changed however. It changed when we
had the first set of prints taken, but this time nothing. I'm a little
concerned about that.
