Approved In Alaska
I have finally been granted Lawful Permanent Resident Status, now I’m just waiting for my Green Card to be delivered. Then I’m off to start my NEW job with the Alaska State Troopers \ Crime Lab.
Here is our timeline if it helps anyone.
14Sep04 – Wife sent I129F application to Nebraska.
8Dec04 – Received Notification that it was granted this time
15Dec04 – Wife receives letter informing her that our application has now been passed to the National Visa Centre.
13Jan05 – Received Packet from US Embassy in London.
14Jan05 – Returned all Forms with all of the supporting documentation required
1Feb05 – Received Notice of Medical and Interview
15Feb05 - Medical / Embassy Interview in London
(SMALL NOTE – Do NOT stay at the Marble Arch Inn)
17Feb05 – Received Passport with K1 VISA
1Mar05 – Flew out of Glasgow, to London then
1Mar05 - Arrived Newark, NJ, then on to Houston, TX then to Seattle, WA
2Mar05 - Arrived Anchorage, AK then onto Kotzebue, AK
(Small Note – The things we do for love)
16Mar05 – Book appointment online for interview at Anchorage on 6th April 05
2Apr05 - MARRIED - At long last, only took 8 years
4Apr05 - Filed Marriage Documents at Court
6Apr05 - Filed I485, I765, I864 x 2, I864A and NOT forgetting the G325
6Apr05 – Paid the Fees (Should forget that)
6Apr05 – Fingerprints Taken, Document Checked, and then informed they needed more information about my sponcer.
6Apr05 – Interviewed by Immigration Official
6Apr05 – Received EAD
6Apr05 – Told go to the Social Security Office, Handed a small map with its address.
8Apr05 – Got home – Requested the documents from my wife’s employer.
15Apr05 – Received Documents from wife’s employer, Completed another form.
18Apr05 – Posted Documents to DHS in Anchorage
18Apr05 – Received Social Security Number
19Apr05 – Sent documents away so I can NOW be on my wife’s Medical Insurance
27Jun05 – Received letter, requesting me to appear in the Anchorage office for Fingerprinting on the 14th July
04Jul05 – Celebrated 1st ever 4th of July, in Kotzebue
14Jul05 – Attended fingerprint session at Anchorage office, and was informed that the fingerprints are required for FBI background checks and for the FBI files
30Jul05 – Received letter from Department of Homeland Security in Anchorage informing me that I have been GRANTED – Conditional Permanent Residency from 4/28/2005 to 7/27/2005, and my case had been forwarded to the Service Centre in Nebraska for them to issue my green card.
12Aug05 – Received letter a Welcome letter from Nebraska informing me that my application has been approved and I should receive my Green Card or Permanent Resident Card within the next 3 week.
Nothing to do NOW for almost 2 years lets see how many forms I will need to complete then.

When it's time, you'll file the I-751 along with the required supporting evidence. Only one form to be completed...finally the process gets easier!

Congratulations and it will only be one form -- I-751 unless you choose to naturalize.

Eric,
I book my appointment using the infopass system to submit my I485 at the Anchorage office.
There was nothing saying that I was not able to book my appointment prior to my marriage, and no one in the local office said I could not book it.
