Thank you for your reply. I am aware it's 90 days. Since K-3 is no longer an option, perhaps CR-1 would be better for us. The problem is the process takes a long time. We were planning to meet before applying for any visa anyway but we have already reached the decision that we will marry if we need to do so to be together.

The problem is the process takes a long time.
Any way you slice it you're looking at 8-10 months apart, minimum. If you cannot handle that, perhaps you should consider if you are mature enough for marriage.
