Default AOS Timelines, NH

Greetings all, I am curious if there is anyone going through or has
completed an AOS in New Hampshire recently. My wife and I have been
working on hers for a year now and the latest bit of information
stated it could take another 6 months.

My wife has been talking to people in her English class who got their
AOS in about 6 months from submission. (Or so my wife says)

I'm trying to confirm or deny this and get a realistic estimate of the
actual waiting time.

Thanks

hi there,

we are going through manchester and submitted jan 24th - we've had the
biometrics (very promptly) and an RFE (very promptly) but no EAD nor
any movement on the rest of the files. i'm starting to get the feeling
that this will drag out like in your case, especially given the fact
that they are only dealing with june 2005 applications for AOS. but
like you I would love to hear some other people's experiences of
manchester as it not so well documented on the various boards..anyways
hope you get some movement soon... niall

fact that we too are on a waiver marriage. thanks for sharing your
timeline - i guess its 2007 before we can think about booking tickets
home! niall

Ours went in last March (2005) No updates to the web site then in a
one week period it went from "Now working on February 2005 to May 2005
AOS.
Huh? Did we lose two months worth of submissions somewhere??

Anyway my wife is now waiting for the arrival of her renewed work
permit.

And on a different note... My wife is sad. She took her road test
yesterday and failed. Only one part, backing up and turning.
Everything else involving going forward was fine. I'm going to work
with her this weekend and try and teach her that the mirrors are an
aid, and that she needs to turn her head and look.

Much as I hate following up to my own post, This morning there was a
little gem in my inbox from our old friends at the USCIS. They said
they will be sending out a letter asking for more evidence or
information and that the letter will explain in detail.

This means to me,

1) the bobo'd something again and we have to go in for more
fingerprints or I have to send in more details.

2) Interview for the green card.

I should find out later this week. If you here a loud earth shattering
virtual kaboom, you can assume it wasn't a date for the interview.

So shall we start a pool now? ;)

sorry to hear that - nothing like an request for more evidence to drive
you up the wall - sometimes i think its better hearing nothing at all
because any time i do its bad news! you could maybe try and call to
find out in more detail what they need - that way you'll be a step
ahead of the letter and it could shorten the time your case goes on
"hold" while they wait for the additional evidence - although knowing
how long you are kept on hold with them on the phone the letter might
arrive before someone picks up - good luck and keep your chin up! niall

I'll wait until the letter arrives. I have let slip the politicians of
more...taxes, on the USCIS so that might be what's going on. [1]

1) Contacted Sununu's office a couple of weeks ago. Previously had
Gregg's office deal with them but I thought three times was enough for
that well.

Hi Ned,

Did you have much joy when you contacted your representatives? I am
just wondering if this will be a worthwhile endeavour for us in the
future? At the same time, I know of a couple who got Sununu to write a
cover letter on their package and the wife just got her EAD last week
even though they submitted after us and did not deal with their RFE as
quickly as us either. Niall

In my case yes. However I have a personal connection with Sen. Gregg.
His wife used to baby sit me when I was but a wee nipper. ;) [1]

Also my father was friends with the Senator's late father Gov. Gregg.
Because of this a I was able to drop a name or two.

The first time I contacted Sen. Gregg's office was back when my wife's
visa application got stuck in the Vermont center. The second time was
right after the Guangzhou call center was allowed to reopen after the
local officials had closed it for 6 weeks. [2]

The third time was last fall when my wife was having problems getting
her Social Security card. It took his office and the assistance of
another poster to this newsgroup to finally get that all straightened
out. [3]

Since I don't want to wear out my welcome with Sen. Gregg's office and
since my wife got the Sununu bug in her ear, I contacted his office
for a change. I've been talking with his local constituent rep and he
may have been able to kick something loose. I received an email over
the weekend telling me a letter requesting more information or
evidence was on the way. We'll see what that means.

1) No I won't say how long ago that was. <wink>

2) Long story. Basically I contacted them after they reopened and
asked for a ballpark estimate on when my now wife could expect her
interview. Their response was rather annoying. I'm told my scream of
angry frustration was heard down the hall where I work.

3) Hi Mike!! :)

All paperwork went in last year. We're waiting for the interview
notice or the green card. I have been following the timelines, (about
as accurate as $2 timepiece), called the service center and my wife
scheduled an appoinment a few weeks ago to find out the status and why
things were taking so long. The office we deal with is Manchester, NH.
My wife is getting frustrated because she has met other people going
through the same process and they had their status changed within 6 or
so months. I was notified via email that we will be getting a letter
explaining about the need for more evidence or information. I don't
know what that may mean. It could be the interview schedule or they
may want more evidence. I'm assuming the worst so I won't be
surprised. (More details and delays)
