Re: AOS Questions
Only one way to find out I guess. If they say I owe a fee I'll be sending them a copy of their own instructions!

Re: AOS Questions
No.
Back in the day when there was an I-765 application fee, there was a fee for renewal. Now that there is no separate fee when filing there is no renewal fee.
(In the asylum arena, the first I-765 is no charge. Renewals do have a fee. I mention this because information can get distorted when passed on).

Re: AOS Questions
Just a small update:
We went to an InfoPass appointment here in Denver this morning. Spoke to a really nice guy who explained that our case file reached Denver in mid-July and was already reviewed by an officer who recommended it be completed without interview - it's now basically waiting for another officer to review his recommendation to decide whether we do need an interview or not.
The guy said he can see no notes on our file about any red flags or anything along those lines which was really positive. He did say we were a little out of processing time but not by much and we should hear something within the next 6-8 weeks.
He advised EAD renewals look to be taking around 4-5 months but we should have our green card by then.

Re: AOS Questions
Eh, I'll believe it when I see something through the mail!
It's definitely given us some peace of mind, he even told us the shelf number our file is currently sat on! (AA42 if I remember rightly!)
It was hell trying to get there for an 8am appointment in rush hour but it feels like it was worth it to know our file isn't lost or has any issues etc. I'm hoping me filing my EAD renewal was a waste of $20 postage but I think it was still sensible to get it sent off.

I've managed to fit everything in a single envelope.

Re: AOS Questions
Weird! I paid FedEx express tracked. I was also in a hurry as I was in a gap between meetings so I probably just said yes to whatever to get out of there

Re: AOS Questions
Perhaps in Denver, CO that is true. It was not true at one of the main PO on 43rd street in Manhattan, or in Yonkers, NY or here in Hattiesburg, MS. The only time I ever had to wait at the machine was for one person who kept getting confused with the machine instructions

Re: AOS Questions
It’s a shambles here. No parking, long waits, unhelpful staff etc etc. Much easier to pay the extra at FedEx! It’s also closer to home so works great when I need to nip out and send something off when I’m WFH.
