AOS question
I am wondering if I will encounter any problems....by the time all my paperwork is submitted my husband will be deployed overseas (military)...and he will be gone for a total of 18 months...will this delay my interview for AOS or could my husband be granted a 'waiver' of his interview, the lawyer that is going to do this all for me says that sometimes the local office (kansas city) waives interviews of certain members, if they will not be able to attend due to military obligations, and if they don't waive his interview we will have to 'reopen' the case if the interview comes up before he gets back (which is a strong possibilty as they are doing interviews within 6 months).
Any input here would be gratefully received, as I am wondering if I will be doing myself more harm than good!! Although I know once they have accepted the application, I will be pending from then until the interview, and therefore 'safe'.
thanks

It sounds like your husband is a non-US citizen -- if so, perhaps the
best thing for him to do is to apply for citizenship using his military
service (presuming that he's serving with the US military).

Sorry I wasn't very clear in my post...my husband is the USC I am the one trying to adjust status (UKC) and I would have done all the paperwork myself if it wasn't for the fact my husband will be away...I want someone on my side rooting for me, as I have no family here and his family is at least 1000 miles in any direction...so basically I am on my own, coping with the AOS stuff and the fact that my husband will be in a combat zone...and trying to keep my husband alive in our 2 year olds mind and heart...
thanks
