AOS question

I am using Houston INS, for my EAD and AOS. I have read about people queueing at
2.15 am in the morning and waiting. Is it necessary for me to file in person???
Does it take longer if I file by post, I would use UPS to send the package. If I
do this, I presume I will receive an appointment date to obtain my card. Thanks
Steve

It's my understanding from our INS office that Certified mail with the return
postcard confirming delivery is the only form of mail receipt that INS
recognizes. Don't know if it's true for all offices, but that's what our
correspondence with them here says, Linda Steve Millward wrote:
