AOS interview rescheduling how risky?
Hello,
We got interview letters for AOS interview.
My wife is currently out of country for family medical reasons ( her father
is ill).
Is it ok if we ask for rescheduling of her interview?
Is it too risky.
Please advise.

It isn't necessarily risky, but it will obviously delay adjustment.
The rescheduling request is supposed to be signed by her, not you, to
be acceptable to INS also.

Re: AOS interview rescheduling how risky?
Rescheduling is not a problem. However, it delays the interview and
adjustment of status for a period of time that cannot be immediately
determined. I used to work at INS and sometimes the delay would be 5
months or more.
Make sure you keep a copy of the letter you send. Also send it
certified with return receipt. BTW, wether you send it FedEx or UPS
doesn't really matter. In the end, it all gets handled the same way
anyway. It maybe only gets there a day or two faster...
Don't expect a response from INS after you send the letter, they get
too much mail to write a response to each individual letter. The AOS
dept I used to work for used to get 1 to 2 buckets (those white USPS
mail bins) of mail daily.
