Default Aos Garden city update

On Saturday I received a notice for my fingerprints which are to be done Sat 3rd. So I guess they are assigning appoinments now not telling you to call up and schedule. Crossing my fingers not to loose a digit by Saturday. Notice dated the 25th, a day after interview.

NYC never allowed you to choose your appointment date for biometrics. It was always assigned to you re time and place.

I believe you may be incorrect for both my EADS 2003 and 2004, I scheduled my own appointment and for for Biometrics in May 2003 I schedeuled my own appointment.

Actually Rete - for my husband's biometrics, were were sent a notice with a phone number with directions to call it and make an appt. When we called, the person would rattle off 3 or 4 dates and then ask us to pick one. But indeed, perhaps they're not doing this anymore.

And then on his last fingerprinting this year, we got a letter with an assigned date & time - they scheduled it for a date he would be out of the country. We went to the Brooklyn ASC, stood in line and explained the story but were turned away because they were too busy.

We went back 2 days later, it was a little bit slower, they let us in.

Go figure.

Our appointments were done for us by the CIS for AOS, EAD's and Naturalization and we used 26 Federal Plaza ... not that I'm incorrect but rather that the system is inconsistent.

I apologise for saying that you were incorrect. But procedures have changed dramatically in the last 2 years. How along ago did you go through the process ?

Finished everything up in December 2003. Not that long ago ;-) N-400 mailed in May, 2003, July, 2003 bio appointment set up by CIS. Prior to that all bio appointments were also received by CIS for the New Rochelle office.

In Nov 2003, we picked a date for Bios/FP, but in June this year they gave us a date certain for fingerprints.
