Default ANYONE GOING THROUGH ANKARA EMBASSY

Just wondering if anyone is going through Ankara for their security
checks and interviews or if anyone has in the past 30 days been to
Ankara for their interview and had security checks done already?

According to Ankara embassy they are backing up on security checks
already.

http://www.usemb-ankara.org.tr/CONSULAR/status.htm

This is a little scary.
I don't see my number posted yet and it has been almost 30 days since
my approval and 2 weeks since they had sent the information from NVC
to Ankara.
Now I wonder if I will pop up on the very bottom of the list or if a
security check will move swiftly. ??

Any experiences yet?

Hi...
I'm not there yet, but my fiance will be going through Ankara
eventually...I'm anxious to hear of any responses you get, also. I
hope you get processed soon! Please keep us informed, and my thoughts
are with you.

Hi Rene,
I will keep you posted on my stats. You could always bump ahead of me.
You never know.
Here are my timelines as of right now
I-130 (NSC) July 7th 2002
K-3 Filed NSC-November 12th (NOA)
MCS-December 12th (2nd NOA)
MCS-approval March 18th (Approval)
NVC-REC March 26th and forwarded to Ankara Embassy March 26th.
I think in this whole timeline, 1 month wasted on service centers
sending NOA's etc...

Good luck on your side. Where is your spouse from?

Hi Jewels
My fiance is an Iranian citizen, but is living and working in Turkey. I'm prepared for a looooong wait on his security checks, coming from one of the "terrorist" countries :-( Is your spouse Turkish? I was just there in February for the 3rd time...I love it!
Good luck to both of us!

Rene,
I think we have met before on this board
My husband is Iranian and resides in Iran.
I am flying to Turkey at the end of this month. I will be going to
Istanbul and will be my 3rd time as well. You and I seem to have the
same path here.
The whole process is a painful wait. If you can endure it, then you
have to be approved
How did you meet your fiance?
I met my husband through his brother that lives here in the states. I
have known his brother for about 10 years. I never knew he had a
brother until he mentioned him to me one night when he visited. I
said, "What you have a brother? Why didn't you tell me this before?" I
wanted to know if he was single and my to my luck he was
Quite honestly I never thought it would end up like this. I was just
looking for a companion, someone to talk with but somehow went one
step further. I love Turkey too. I like being able to go outside and
see people everywhere. I like having the ability to stop and ask
someone where something is and not get some evil glare for asking a
question such as that. People there are very friendly and I respect
that. I have had a lot of fun going there not much for tourism but
more for the people is what I enjoyed the most.
Tell me all about your story. I would love to hear it.

Hello Jewels! Yes indeed, we did cross paths here on the board a while back when I was just starting to post and had a ton of questions. It seems our paths are criss-crossing all over, here, and Iran, and Turkey! LOL

I met my fiance in Istanbul when I was there on vacation 6 years ago. We didn't get a chance to talk much then (but I knew he was something special). When I came back to the states, we didn't keep in touch, although I never forgot him. Then, 4 years later, I went there again on vacation with my sister. I looked him up, and he was still there, still single, and still felt a connection between us...and so did he. We spent about a week going around Istanbul and dating, and when it was time for me to come home that time, we decided to be serious with each other and try the long distance relationship. After 2 years at that, we decided to make it permanent, and I was just there in Jan/Feb for the formal engagement and to exchange rings. Now, here I am, one month into the K1 visa process. I thought being apart 2 years felt long....but this feels even longer!!!

I love Turkey for just that reason too....people are so friendly and I felt safer walking around alone over there, even at night, than I do here at home! :-) I'm so jealous of your upcoming trip....take me! Take me! LOL How long will you be there?

I'm so glad we met! Keep in touch!
Rene
