Re: Any other way?! Help please!
Thanks to everyone for the advice. I didn't get at all confused by it ;-)
Just to let you know that I have applied for the police check and the wheels
are turning.
It looks as though my husband and I will be apart for six weeks or so. The
upside is that it means that by the time I get my visa and hit Texas, he
will have sorted somewhere for us to live, transport etc. Whereas, if we had
gone together, getting ourselves sorted may have been a bit stressful with a
three (almost four) year old to haul around too!
Thanks again and God bless.

Well done Lynda!!
Hope it all goes smoothly....glad that you see the seperation as a positive thing and I agree it will probably be much more organised this way.
I am a member of a really wonderful site where the admin, who's scottish, lives in Texas and most of the members are Texans, although the site attracts women (and some men ;o) from all over the world. If your interested then email me and I'll tell you all about it.
Once again, good luck!!!!

Thanks northspoon :-)
It's been a while since I first posted as I didn't have all of my docs
ready... so I've been getting that sorted out - the police report should be
here any day now. I also had sent the wrong kind of birth certificate for
my son - they wanted the long one and I only had the short one... so I had
to go and get a copy - doh! The good news is that today we received my
petition approval. We also have to wait on some tax information from the
IRS. I just wish I had investigated my visa sooner so that I could have got
all the docs ready sooner :-/
Does anyone know roughly how long I might have to wait for my interview at
the US Embassy after they have received my document checklist?!?
