Almost at the end of I-485... What comes after ?
Hi,
I am in the process of obtaining an Emplyoment Based GC. My case was
received by the Texas Service Center in May 2002, and according to the
lastest dates released they are processing Apr 2002. Since the
begining of the whole process I was not called for any interview, or
anything else.
I keep reading here in the newsgroups about people being called for
interviews, or fingerprinting, etc... Are these usually marriage based
process ?
So I am wondering what is the next step in my case. What would
ultimately happen once they start processing cases received around the
same dates as mine was ?
I'd appreciate if anyone which went through a similar situation could
share his/her experience.
Regards,
M.D.

Employment based? I thought that all employment based Gc application
goes to Nebraska Service Center.

No... they have to be filed at the Service Center that has jurisdiction over
the place of residence of the applicant. A small percentage of them are then
transferred to a District Office for an interview.
To the OP: I assume you are referring to your pending I-485.
At some point, you will receive an invitation to have your fingerprints
taken. Next they have to clear a security check after which your I-485 will
be adjudicated.
Employment-based GC applications are not usually selected for an interview.

Sorry. It goes to service centers not district offices.
