Default AFTER 195 DAYS...Sheryl is finally APPROVED!!!!!!!

For reasons we will never know it took a VERY long time, but we were
notified today that our case (129F for K3) was finally approved. We
are so happy. It seems now that cases are moving very slowly. I feel
for all of you. Don't think that after 180 days the National INS or
MSC will help you. They won't. They just tell you to write a letter
of inquiry to the MSC.

I finally found help at the Federal level. I was relentless in my
endeavor. It took an amazing amount of work to get to the top, but
someone finally listened and helped. Our timeline:

March 27, 2002 - mailed 130 to VSC
April 1, 2002 - recieved 130 NOA
April 1, 2002 - mailed 129F
April 10, 2002 - received 129F NOA from MSC
October 18, 2002 - I129F approved

All the best to everyone. Eventually you will be approved. For some
of us, unfortunately, it just takes a painfully long time.

Steps:

1. Researched and hired an attorney that worked in INS for 25 years
before joining his current firm. (no help)
180 Days passed....
2. Begged and pleaded with three people at the Missouri Service Center
(no help)
3. Begged and pleaded with the INS liason at my representative's
office. (no help)
4. Begged and pleaded with the offices of Hillary Clinton and Chuck
Schumer (no help)
5. Sent letters to the congressional sponsors of LIFE Act (Orrin
Hatch, Henry Bonilla and Lamar Smith), cc'ing all those already
contacted (no help...big disappointment)
6. Began calling anyone and everyone I could reach in Washington DC
that would listen.
7. Finally someone of importance cared enough to not only listen, but
act.

Our case was seriously delayed, and we had not heard anything from INS
after nearly 7 months of waiting. If anyone else is out there with a
seriously delayed case, DO NOT settle for inefficient help from your
congresspeople. There are others above who care and have more power
to help you.

People will do something about it if your case is truly problematic.
We had recieved no communication from MSC or VSC in seven months. I
don't think anyone at the federal level is going to do much for anyone
unless your case is beyond 180 days.

I don't even remember where I began in DC. I dialed made up extensions
when I had prefixes. I told my story to many, and had to wait on
people to get back to me before I was transferred to someone else.

The INS ethically needed to give me some sort of information. I saw
another case on this board, TBurton's, that justifies serious
intervention. He should do the same.

I recommend calling around DC. I don't want to give the name and
number of the people that finally intervened, because they would be
flooded with calls from people whose cases are not seriously
problematic. I only want to reiterate that it IS possible to find
assistance beyond the congressional level.
